We hope you are enjoying being back on the pitch playing soccer this spring!
Due to a plethora of e-mails over the past few days, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify some questions around masks.
As always, we are following all rules and guidelines set out by our governing bodies, including Canada Soccer, Saskatchewan Soccer, and the Provincial Government. However, there are also rules and regulations set out by individual cities, towns, and other municipalities.
With that being said, that although at this time masks are not mandatory (yet still encouraged) for outdoor sports in general, if a city, town, municipality or facility has an outdoor masking policy, we will need to abide by those individual rules and regulations.
Please stay informed through the provincial government updates, and your local authorities regarding outdoor masking and sports. Saskatchewan Soccer also has an abundance of information posted on their website as well and can be found under their Covid-19 Resources Tab.
Please follow the rules for where you are playing soccer. The blanket rules are that they are not mandatory, however, if you are in a place (town/city/facility) that requires them, then they are required. We, as VSA, do not have a mandatory masking policy, but we must follow all rules, regulations, and guidelines for where we play soccer (Aberdeen, Cudworth, Dalmeny, Hague, Hepburn, Langham, Martensville, Osler, Rosthern, Waldheim, Warman and Saskatoon).
